The Disciples of Christ Historical Society (DCHS) is in the process of migrating its digital archives from Digital Commons to a new, long-term digital repository with JSTOR. During this transition, we are providing temporary access to many of our digital collections on this page to ensure continuity and to preserve existing links that researchers, congregations, and partners rely on.

We recognize that this interim arrangement is not the most user-friendly solution. However, it allows us to maintain access to important materials while we complete the careful work of transferring, describing, and preserving our digital collections in a more robust and sustainable environment.

As part of this transition, DCHS will adopt JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services as the unified home for its digital collections and will participate in their charter program, helping to shape the next generation of digital stewardship tools and practices. This move will support improved digital asset management, long-term preservation through Portico, and expanded discovery pathways—including the ability to share select collections directly through JSTOR.

Through participation in the charter program, DCHS will also gain access to AI-assisted collections processing tools that can help our small archival team expand online access while maintaining professional and ethical archival standards.
