DCHS Digital Commons

Welcome to the DCHS Digital Commons, the home for digital collections of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society. Our extensive and ever-growing online repository offers a unique collection of resources that chronicle the rich history of the Stone-Campbell Movement and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Here, scholars, church members, and the general public can explore a wide array of materials that include historical documents, letters, photographs, audio recordings, and videos.

Our digitization program ensures that valuable historical artifacts are safeguarded for future generations while making them readily accessible for research and education today.

Our Digital Commons is dedicated to preserving and sharing a fuller and more diverse narrative of our church than has previously been told. This initiative not only helps to maintain our connection to the past but also supports our commitment to inclusivity by highlighting the contributions of historically underrepresented groups within the church.

Whether you are conducting scholarly research, exploring your religious heritage, or simply curious about church history, our Digital Commons brings the history of the Stone-Campbell Movement to you.

Journal of Discipliana

The Journal of Discipliana is an online only, open access, peer-reviewed journal for original scholarship that explores issues related to all aspects of thought and religious life and practice within the historical or contemporary Stone-Campbell Movement. The General Editor, Dr. Timothy S. Lee, works in consultation with an editorial board of scholars representing a diversity of gender, “racial-ethnic,” and national identity from the three primary streams of the Stone-Campbell Movement: the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, and the Churches of Christ (a cappella). Dr. Joel Brown, President of the Historical Society, is Publisher. Journal issues will be numbered by year, with articles and book reviews added throughout the year as they are edited and approved. The Journal of Discipliana continues the legacy of the quarterly print periodical Discipliana, which suspended publication in 2014. Manuscripts may be submitted in Microsoft Word to Dr. Lee.

Email Dr. Lee.
