Scheduling an in-person research visit
Members of the Historical Society congregations within the Stone-Campbell Movement, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) ministries , and the public are welcome to conduct in-person research. Researchers must present a valid photo ID, complete a researcher registration form, and abide by DCHS reading room policies and procedures.
In-person research at the Disciples of Christ Historical Society is available Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Please schedule your research appointment at least one week in advance to allow time for a remote research consultation prior to your visit. Due to staffing limitations, we reserve the right to limit the length of a research visit.

Scanning and Copying Information for In-Person Researchers
- Researchers may photograph or scan collection materials for personal use. However, handling guidelines for materials must be followed during photographing and scanning.
- Photography lighting stands may be used only with permission of Historical Society staff.
- Historical Society staff can perform limited photocopying or scanning on behalf of a researcher. Please see Reproduction Policies & Fees for more information.

Parking
Free parking is provided for in-person researchers.
Overnight Accommodations
Overnight accommodations in Bethany, WV, are currently very limited. Researchers are encouraged to contact the Erickson Alumni Center at Bethany College for use of their guest rooms. Otherwise, guests are referred to Wheeling, WV, and Washington, PA, for hotel accommodations.
