The Disciples of Christ Historical Society is pleased to announce Erin Anderson as the Society’s Archival Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from West Liberty University and is currently completing a Masters degree in Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Erin’s academic focus includes the description, preservation, and dissemination of both physical and digital archival materials. With a passion for ethical archival stewardship, Erin is committed to sustainable practices that prioritize the needs of collections and their users. She aims to implement these practices to ensure the long-term preservation of the valuable collections at the Disciples of Christ Historical Society.
On the addition of Erin to the Society’s staff, President Joel Brown said, “I am delighted to welcome Erin Anderson as our new Archival Assistant. As a graduate student in archival studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Erin brings a wealth of new knowledge and expertise to our archival operations. I am confident in her ability to contribute to the development of our research and reference services and lead our accessioning program. I look forward to the many ways Erin will help advance the Historical Society’s mission with excellence.”
In reflecting on her new appointment as Archival Assistant for the Society, Erin shared, “I’m particularly excited to work with Joel and Colleen on their vision for the Disciples of Christ Historical Society. With Colleen’s deep expertise and passion for religious records, and with Joel’s extensive knowledge of the Stone-Campbell movement and his strong commitment to his faith, there is a remarkable opportunity to expand access to the movement’s rich, diverse history and communities.”
