On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Disciples of Christ Historical Society co-hosted a dinner with ministry partner Disciples Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministries (CUIM) for attendees at the General Assembly. We were honored to host Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, Chief Executive Officer of the World Council of Churches, as the guest speaker for the event. His lecture Signs of Wholeness in Our Fragmented World invited attendees to reflect on the journey toward justice, peace, and reconciliation. Dr. Pillay explored how Christians can become signs of healing and wholeness amid the crises of our age—through peacemaking, climate justice, economic equity, gender and racial justice, and faith-rooted compassion. 

In addition to Dr. Pillay’s lecture, Board of Trustees member and Capital Campaign Director, Dr. Ann Updegraff Spleth, announced the launch of the Restore & Renew Capital campaign and invited attendees to consider participating in this historically ambitious project.
