Announcing the 2025 Trading Card Design and Call for Submissions

Uncategorized

March 27, 2025

The Historical Society launched a series of collectible trading cards at the 2023 General Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky. The trading cards, featuring historical figures from across the Stone-Campbell Movement, were modeled after historic Topps baseball cards from the 1980’s.

We are thrilled to announce the new design for the 2025 edition of trading cards in anticipation of the 2025 General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Memphis, Tennessee. Modeled after the 1986-1987 Fleer basketball card, most iconically known for being the card design for Michael Jordan’s rookie season. The design features a mix of the Historical Society’s unique branding and the vintage card style.

Our first card features Rosa Brown Bracy, who served as a teacher and dean at Alabama Christian Institute in Lum, Alabama, and was called by the Christian Women’s Board of Missions to serve as field secretary for the Women’s Missionary Society for Negro Churches.

In anticipation of this new series of cards, we are opening up submissions for members of the Stone-Campbell Movement to submit historical figures to be considered for the 2025 edition of trading cards. To nominate someone, we invite you to fill out this form.
